29ºF and falling.... Lets see. We do NOT have any chain restaurants in this corner of N. Dakota. Pat and I met our friends Bill and Judy Joyce for dinner at the Smugglers last night. They have a prime rib buffet for about $16 per person. It is actually very good prime rib. The Smugglers got the name during the prohibition days when transporting canadian whiskey was frowned upon. Many local persons participated in this activity during the winter when farming was slow. They met at the bar to do business and enjoy their ill gotten goods. We went to Joyce's farm and visited over coffee for a time before going home. I know winter is getting to me when while passing the mower in the garage, I patted it and had endearing thoughts of mowing grass. I know I'll regret that in a couple of months or so.
